Trash the Dragon is a fictional character of Twenty One Pilots created by lead singer Tyler Joseph. He's a blue fire-breathing dragon figure and is featured in the cover art of band's sixth studio album, Scaled and Icy, and the music videos for Shy Away and Choker (as a minifigure).
Creation[]
In an interview for BBC Radio 1, Tyler told the inspiration to create Trash was his little dragon totem figurine present on his home studio, which he occasionally stared at in between his creative processes. He added: I have this theory that, even if you're confined to one small room, if you were to focus on one singular detail of that room, that detail can then come to life. [...] If I can get to a place where I'm looking at [this little dragon figurine] and I'm creating something and, all of a sudden, he can grow and then, actually, fly around the room, and then, where I am, I'm transported to a completely different place. It really is the power of creativity, the power of imagination, and ultimately the power of music. And that's something that I'm experimenting with on this record."[1]

On April 8, 2021, one day after the release of "Shy Away" and the album's announcement, Tyler revealed Trash's name on his Instagram story.
