The NCO form is divided into three sections:

2. Why is the Yellow Notification of Change of Ownership form so important?
Regulation 53 of the National Road Traffic Act says that no one can buy, sell, or trade a car that isn't registered or hasn't been licenced. The Yellow Notification of Change of Ownership form is needed to let the government know that there has been a change of ownership. If the government isn't informed, the seller could still be responsible for the fines from the previous owner if the car is still in their name.
3. How should you complete the Yellow Notification of Change of Ownership form?
Parts A and C of the form should be filled in by the seller, while part B should be filled in by the buyer.
- Part A has the seller's or owner's information and a statement from them that they have given or sold the car and that their information is correct.
- Part B has the buyer's information and a statement from them that they have received the car and that their information is correct.
- Part C is about the car in question, including the licence number, VIN number, make, and the reason for the change of ownership.
