General information[]

Physical appearance[]

Pico wears a green T-shirt with darker green long sleeves, beige or green colored pants, and a pair of red sneakers with orange ankle patches and light brown soles. He has ginger hair and distinctive white eyes with no pupils as a stylistic choice. Sometimes, he is depicted with a tooth gap, most notably seen in some of MindChamber's art.

Personality[]

Pico is described as "popular" by his peers, being the first one to raise his hand in class, often using his words and speaking up whenever possible, showing his confident side. He also acts quite reckless and takes action immediately during the destruction of his school. In Pico vs. Überkids, he doesn't show any fear when faced with the gun in his mouth, and even pulls the trigger twice instead of just once as a strategic yet suicidal move.

He has an aggressive side to him, being an extremely skilled gunman who valiantly fights any foes in his way. Pico is caring of his friends' safety, and immediately faces threats against Darnell and Nene without hesitation in Pico 2 and Resident Pico respectively. Along with this, he proves himself to be loyal, as in Friday Night Funkin' he refuses to work against Boyfriend twice and even saves his life.

In Pico's School: Love Conquers All, he behaves in a much more hospitable manner towards the Goth Punks, and is determined to encourage them to be more optimistic. He is outspoken and readily expresses disapproval of any behavior that he thinks is wrong, even if whom he is talking about is present.

Abilities[]

Pico's most notable skill is his proficiency with guns, which are his primary weapons of choice. With them, he has remarkable accuracy and is capable of using two at once. He is most commonly seen with a sub-machine gun similar to a MAC-10, but has also used other types of guns such as the AK-47 and M16 assault rifles. He is also strong enough to be able to knock someone out with his bare fists, as seen in Pico 2. Pico is shown to have a talent for dancing, rapping, and using DJ turntables as well. According to Pico vs Bear, he is experienced at handling hostage situations.

Relationships[]

The following is based solely on canonical information.
Characters unrelated to the Pico franchise are not included.

Darnell[]

Pico and Darnell are close friends. In Pico 2, Pico rushes to stop the Ghettobots once he learns that they are actively threatening Darnell's life, and Darnell invites him over to his house to practice on a DJ turntable his mom bought as entertainment.

However, a sneak peek of an upcoming update for Friday Night Funkin' shows Pico and Darnell fighting each other. Though the reasoning behind this is unclear, a promotional image reveals that alongside Darnell and Nene, they were being paid by Daddy Dearest to kill Boyfriend.

Nene[]

Pico and Nene have been confirmed to be friends. Despite this, their interactions are often unpleasant - in Pico's School, Nene begs Pico to kill her, and in Resident Pico, Nene coldly rejects his offer to protect her from the zombies because she prefers to "have [her] brains eaten". Though in the latter game, she does advise him to run, meaning that at the very least she doesn't want him to die.

However, a sneak peek of an upcoming update for Friday Night Funkin' shows Nene throwing knives at Pico as he runs away from her. While the reason is unclear, it's revealed that they were hired by Daddy Dearest to kill Boyfriend.

Boyfriend[]

Pico and Boyfriend are ex-boyfriends. There has been very little information revealed about their past relationship aside from the reason for their breakup being "complicated"[5] and it being hinted that they used to sing together, as the reason Pico rap battles against him is out of nostalgia and old habits,[6] implying that Pico misses him in some way.

In the present day, Pico proves himself to be more loyal to Boyfriend than his employer Daddy Dearest, as he goes against his orders twice - first to kill Boyfriend in his own Week, and second to check if he's dead in Tankman's Week by instead saving his life. It is unclear what Boyfriend feels towards Pico, but he appears to be completely fine being around him and even singing with him.

Father[]

Pico's relationship with his father is mostly unknown, but he seems to be neglectful toward his son. Interacting with a car in the Tom Fulp demo of Pico 2 prompts Pico to say "My dad loves that car more than he loves me! I hope he crashes the damn thing into a brick wall!"

Timmy[]

According to Darnell in Pico 2, Pico barely makes eye contact with Timmy and generally ignores him because Pico is "shy and non-confrontational", but since he's been shown to be more the opposite, it was either a joke or incorrect assumption made by Darnell. The true reasoning behind Pico's disregard of Timmy is unknown.

History[]

Pico's School[]

In Pico's School, we are introduced to Pico, who is learning about fruit in his class until Cassandra, the leader of the Goth Punks, kills everyone in the classroom except for Pico, forcing him to take action to stop them. After defeating Cassandra and her group and six months after the school has been saved, the Ghettobots join Pico's class to replace the dead students. Pico, with an angry expression, pulls out his gun, and the game ends.

Pico vs. Überkids[]

In Pico vs. Überkids, Pico and his friends Nene and Darnell are introduced to the Überkids, genetically-engineered creations of the Human Genome Project. Pico, knowing they don't stand a chance against them, challenges them to a game of Rock Paper Scissors Roulette, a game of chance that could mean life or death. As one of the 3 playable characters, he plays against Überfred and pulls the trigger twice whenever he loses.

Pico vs Bear[]

In Pico vs Bear, Pico becomes an expert at handling hostage situations and is called by the Assassin Organization to deal with Big Brown Bary and his goons, Hoe-Joe, Creepo, Piss & Poop, and Titty, who are terrorizing the children who went to visit the Big Blue House. Pico battles the evil bear and his minions and manages to eliminate all of them, freeing the surviving hostages.

UFA[]

Pico is briefly mentioned in the introduction sequence of UFA, where it is stated that 100 years after the events of Pico's School, he had been preventing the Penilians from invading Earth with the Ghettobots whom he had taken control of. But after Pico's eventual death, the Penilians decide to try invading again, this time, to humiliate the humans.

Pico 2[]

Newgrounds Supporter Version[]

In the demo for the cancelled Pico's School sequel Pico 2, the Ghettobots join Pico's class to replace the dead students one week after the school shooting, rather than six months later as previously stated in Pico's School. Darnell explains to Pico that the Ghettobots aren't from North Philly, and are rather from space, which leads Pico to conclude that the Penilians must have sent them after him.

After another confrontation with the Ghettobots on the school playground, Darnell and Pico leave the school, with Darnell instructing Pico to take the train to West Philly to "find out what's up". The west subway entrance is blocked by the DJ and his friends, who will only let Pico pass if he can prove himself as a DJ against him and in a dance battle against Dax at Club Cool. The demo abruptly ends with Pico saying he should head to Darnell's house, as nothing happens once he gets there.

April Fools Version[]

In the April Fools' game Pico's School 2, during class with the Ghettobots, Pico is reminded of the school shooting when Mr. Flacit says they are going to be learning about vegetables. He then asks to go to the bathroom as an excuse to instead leave the school and get a gun, as he believes the Ghettobots are going to kill him. Once Pico obtains a gun at the gun shop, the gun suddenly explodes. The game ends with an April Fools screen showing two penises shaking.

Resident Pico[]

In Resident Pico, Pico needs to shoot a horde of zombies who are roaming town with his AK-47 to protect both himself and Nene, despite her rejecting his offer and running off.

Pico Roulette[]

In Pico Roulette, Pico appears as a playable character.

Friday Night Funkin'[]

In Friday Night Funkin', Pico appears as the opponent of his eponymous Week. His songs are titled "Pico", "Philly Nice", and "Blammed". He was hired by Girlfriend's father to kill Boyfriend for humiliating him during Week 1. But upon finding Boyfriend, Pico recognizes him as a previous partner and decides to spare him instead, challenging him to a rap battle.

Pico later reappears in Week 7, having been hired by Daddy Dearest again to check if Boyfriend was dead after sending him and Girlfriend off to a vacation set up to kill him in Week 8, the Week chronologically taking place prior. Instead, Pico saves Boyfriend from Tankman and his soldiers, and is seen on the speakers shooting various Tankmen throughout the Week's last song, "Stress".

After messing up his job twice, Pico was now in deep trouble with Daddy Dearest, and a sneak peek of an upcoming update shows Pico fighting Darnell and running away from Nene, who is throwing knives at him.

Pico's School: Love Conquers All[]

In Pico's School: Love Conquers All, Pico takes a walk with Cassandra and convinces her and the Goth Punks not to shoot up the school by showing sympathy and sharing his similar interests with them. Cassandra later tells him that she is afraid to live with humans due to them being hom*ophobic, and Penilians all being naturally gay. Pico shows her that not all humans are anti-gay by introducing her to his boyfriend, and this convinces Cassandra to give the Earth a chance. Pico then suggests they visit a museum to teach her more about Earth's culture; however, Cassandra reveals herself to be a furry by asking if there are any museums dedicated to furry art, leaving Pico and Boyfriend in shocked silence.
