What To Watch This Saturday Night - Career Girl Daily (1)

I don’t know about you, but it’s hard to choose a movie on a Saturday night when you’ve basically watched everything Netflix has to offer! But that’s all about to change! This Saturday night, I’ve made a list of the twenty best TV shows and movies that will put an end to neverending googling of “what to watch”. I’ve decided to revisit some of my childhood favorites and some more of my most recently obsessed with, which means my Saturday night is sorted! What about yours?

1. Just Go With It

I cannot tell you how much I love this film! It is my favorite chick flick of all time and there’s no way you can go without watching it. Starring the lovely Jennifer Anniston and Adam Sandler, who might just fall in love…

2. Friends

Now that our 90s favorite has just landed back on Netflix it means we can binge watch the series we all know and love again! Immerse yourself once again in the Ross & Rachel love story that we all couldn’t get enough of before and let the gang make you laugh and cry once again!

3. Just Friends

This film is literally hilarious. It stars Ryan Reynolds who is trying to win the heart of his childhood best friend Jamie, but he’s been friend-zoned and even though he’s changed a lot since high school, making her fall in love with him isn’t as easy as he thought!

4. Black Mirror

Black Mirror is fantastic. It features stand-alone dramas that really shock and stay with you. Because they make you question if they can actually happen! Each story taps into the unease of the modern world and may leave you feeling a little uneasy. Start the new season, you will not be disappointed. They’ll scare you and maybe inspire you with their visions of a bleak future that are actually quite within reach.

5. Rotten

Rotten is all about the food we eat today. It uncovers the truth behind everything we consume, things we never thought were possible. It might scare you/gross you out, but it’s important to know where what you’re eating actually comes from.

6. American Horror Story

There are seven series of this amazing phenomenon! Experience horror like you’ve never experienced it before. The makers behind AHS are genius and not afraid to explore the real and the unusual! You will not be disappointed!

7. Big Daddy

Sonny has just been dumped by his girlfriend because he lacks responsibility. But when a kid shows up on his doorstep he comes up with an idea of how he can grow up! And he’s about to get a lot more than he bargained for! Get the tissues at the ready for this one!

8. Matilda

Watch as this incredibly gifted young lady is born into a family who doesn’t understand her, but is gifted with a teacher who does. But she has to get passed her headteacher first!

9. Maid in Manhattan

Who doesn’t love J-LO? And in this movie, she shines from start to finish! It’s the perfect movie to watch with your girlfriends as you this unlikely maid falls in love with a guy she would never expect to!

10. Never Been Kissed

If you love Drew Barrymore, you will love her even more after this movie. This film follows the geeky, not so popular Josie has to return back to high school to find an exclusive story that will make her career. But she learns that high school is not so different and the scoop she was after is not what she expected!

11. Salem

I am obsessed with this series! It’s so good! I love anything that’s a bit dark and mystical and this one ticks the boxes over and over! Watch as Mary Sibley, the wife of a wealthy town selectman is more than just the woman behind the man. She is, in fact, the most powerful sorceress in Salem, who is ruthless but has many secrets that she needs to hide!

12. The Joneses

I love, love, love this movie! It’s the perfect chick flick to chill out to on a Saturday night! Meet the Joneses, the picture-perfect American family. But how perfect are they really? What’s it really like when the doors are closed? Be prepared to be exposed to modern issues like consumerism and the effects it has on us!

13. The Butterfly Effect

If you haven’t seen this film you must! It’s truly amazing and will keep you on the edge of your toes (or coach) right until the end. Evan discovers in college that he is able to travel back in time and change events to how he wants them to work out. But when you miss with time nothing is as clear or as easy as you’d think.

14. Dave Chapelle Equanimity & The Bird Revelation

I’m very picky when it comes to my comedy, and it takes a lot to make me really laugh! But Dave Chapelle is fantastic. He will give you a completely different take on comedy, whilst incorporatingmodern day issues that will leave you glued to his words.

15. The Sinner

This series is so good and it will have you hooked from start to finish! Instead of focusing on the who, or what this series focuses on the why. And it all starts when a young mother Cora, experiences a huge fit of rage that leads her to do things that she cannot explain. But, Detective Ambrosewon’t stop until he figures out why.

16. The BFG

You must have seen the original when you were a child, and now they have remade the classic that follows Roald Dahl’s famous book. Watch as Sophie is pulled into an adventure of a lifetime when she meets the big, friendly giant! But are other giants as friendly as this one?

17. Pretty Little Liars

Who doesn’t love this series that will make sure you’re hooked to your TV not only for a few episodes but for the whole seven seasons! You won’t be able to stop watching as you follow the mystery behind Alison’s disappearance and her return!

18.AbsolutelyFabulous

Absolutely Fabulous isn’t for everyone, but it’s a classic series and it will give you a few laughs! Following the not-so-bright Eddie & Patsy, who will keep you entertained from start to finish! I’ve loved it ever since I was a kid, and now that I’m older I enjoy it even more!

19.The Vampire Diaries

I have loved the Vampire Diaries ever since it launched in 2009! But, if you haven’t seen it and are starting at the beginning then I would advise holding on past season one when it all gets a bit more exciting! This TV series will take you to Mystic Falls, where a lot more lurks in the shadows than you would originally believe!

20. The Good Place

This show will take you by surprise. It’s about a town where all the good people go after they die. Eleanor is one of those people, she’s lucky to go to her version of The Good Place, with the house of her dreams and a place to view her memories on repeat. Only, it’s not the house of her dreams, the memories aren’t hers, and she’s accidentally been put in The Good Place in place of someone else. Watch this and fall in love with it. New episodes come out every Friday so you’ve got plenty of time to binge it.

Which ones are you going to watch? Or which ones have you seen before? Let’s talk about it in the comments…
