Not using a hitch is risky, but possible! To tow a car without a hitch, you’ll need a strong rope or chain. Once you have that, you can follow these steps:
Attach the rope or chain to a place on the front of the vehicle.
Attach the other end to something sturdy on the other vehicle.
When driving, someone needs to be in the car to make sure it stays in neutral. You will also need to steer it around corners.
To work, you can only tow the car a short distance. Also, watch your speed. If you don’t use a hitch, you’re putting both cars at serious risk. Although it is possible, the best advice is to find someone with a hitch who can help or call a tow truck.
