Piers Morgan became the teaboy for a Fox News talkshow last night - and told America that Yorkshire Gold was world's best brew.
The outspoken journalist has been a guest presenter on The Five this week. And, on Wednesday evening, he made tea for his fellow presenters - to the delight of viewers.
"Piers Morgan just made tea for The Five on Fox News -and said Yorkshire Gold was the best tea ever," said @RondaWellBrooks on Twitter. " I agree, thanks to you."
Victoria Bell tweeted: "Such a delight to see Piers Morgan this week on The Five. The discussion of 'a proper cuppa' was amusing. My fav? PG Tips. Yorkshire Gold is a close 2nd."
Piers shared various tweets about his tea-making, including one that said: "Somebody needs to tell him that the women of American don't want no weak-assed man who drinks tea! But I can listen to him talk about it all damned day!"
However, not everyone was a fan. Avery's Track tweeted: "My dad just made me watch Piers Morgan make tea on Fox News. I’m gonna throw up."
It's not the first time Piers has extolled the virtues of Yorkshire Tea. Back in February 2020, there were calls for a boycott of the brand after Chancellor of Exchequer Rishi Sunak shared a photo of himself with the tea on Twitter. The brand responded by saying: "So it's been a rough weekend. On Friday, the Chancellor shared a photo of our tea.
"Politicians do that sometimes (Jeremy Corbyn did it in 2017). We weren't asked or involved - and we said so the same day. Lots of people got angry with us all the same.
"We've spent the last three days answering furious accusations and boycott calls. For some, our tea just being drunk by someone they don't like means it's forever tainted, and they've made sure we know it.
"It's been pretty shocking to see the determination some have had to drag us into a political mudfight. But it's been lovely to see others speak up for us - we're so grateful to everyone who's done that in a civil way (and gutted to see some use it as a reason for more nastiness).
"Speaking directly now, as the person who's been answering these tweets, I know it could have been much worse. It's easier to be on the receiving end of this as a brand than as an individual. There's more emotional distance and I've had a team to support me when it got a bit much.
"But for anyone about to vent their rage online, even to a company - please remember there's a human on the other end of it, and try to be kind."
Branding the abuse aimed at the Yorkshire Tea "absolutely disgusting", Piers shared its response, and said: "As a massive fan of Yorkshire Tea, which is the best in the world, you have my full support - which will probably make things even worse for you but I offer it anyway."
