Americancelebrity couples have, over the course of the last few years, shocked theworld when it comes to name selections for their babies.
From rapper KanyeWest and socialite ex-wife Kim Kardashian, to world’s richest man Elon Musk andsinger Grimes, the world has heard it all with the crazy and – sometimes –weird baby names.
Below are a few;
Kanye West andKim Kardashian
Kanye and Kimwere married between 2014 and 2022, during which time they were blessed withfour kids, namely; North West, Saint West, Chicago West and Psalm West.
Surprisingly,they claim they didn’t get these names out of the blue. According to Kim, the reasonfor naming their daughter North is because she believes it’s the ultimateheight and "You can't go higher than North."
She revealedthat their second born was named Saint because Kanye believes that peopleusually live up to their names hence, he wanted a name with a spiritualimportance.
Furthermore,their third born was named Chicago after the American city because the placewas of great importance and meaning to Kanye.
Lastly, theirson Psalm West was named after the book of Psalms in the Bible because theyfelt he was perfect and such a blessing to them.
Elon Musk andGrimes
Musk and Grimeshave had and on-and-off relationship over the years, and have given birth tothree children, each with a name more weird than the last.
Their first child,a son, born in 2020 was named X Æ A-12. In December 2021, they gave welcomed adaughter named Exa Dark Sideræl, and have just announced the birth of their third child together named Tau Techno Mechanichus.
Liam Payne andCheryl Tweedy
Initially, thesinging ex-couple wanted to name their son Bubble, but later on once the childwas born, they settled on Bear Payne.
Swizz Beatz andAlicia Keys
Alicia and Swizzhave two sons together with rather unique names. The first son was named Egyptbecause when Alicia travelled there earlier on, she had a transformative lifeexperience.
They named theirlast-born son Genesis, supposedly after the book in the Bible.
Nick Cannon andMariah Carey
Nick and hisex-wife Mariah were blessed with twins and they named them Monroe and Moroccan.
Jason Lee andBeth Riesgraf
Actress Riesgrafand ex-husband Lee had a son together that they named him Pilot Inspektor.
They came upwith the name after being inspired by the song ‘He’s Simple. He’s dumb. He’sthe pilot’ by Band Grandaddy.
Nicholas Cageand Alice Kim
The Hollywoodex-couple named their son Kal-El after the birth name of Superman.
ChristopherJarecki and Alicia Silverstone
The two, althoughdivorced now, had a son together and named him Bear Blu.
Dallas Claytonand Shannyn Sossamon
Shannyn, a starfrom ‘A Knights Tale’, named her son Audio Science.
Erykah Badu
Badu has threechildren from three different men; Andre 3000, The D.O.C, and Jay Electronica.
The children arenamed Seven Sirius, Mars Merkaba, and Puma Sabti.
