Jello Jigglers are as fun to make as they are to eat, andthey’re great for all occasions. Jello comes in lots of fun colors and you canuse festive shapes to create Jigglers for holidays, birthdays and othercelebrations. This recipe is so easy that you can even get the kids involved!

What’s the Difference Between Jello and Jello Jigglers?

The texture of Jello Jigglers is much firmer than your typical bowl of Jello. Jigglers are prepared by using a special ratio and preparation technique, which gives it a much firmer, jelly-like consistency. The gelatin is firm enough to be cut into fun shapes using a cookie cutter, then eaten by hand for a refreshing and fruity treat.

Tips & Tricksfor the Perfect Jello Jigglers

  • Use the right ratio between jello and water. DO NOT Follow the recipe on the box of Jello. As it will lead to less dense gelatin that isn’t robust enough to be cut into shapes. You’ll want to use 2½ cups boiling water for every two packets of Jello.
  • Before pouring the mixture into a baking pan, spray with cooking spray for easier removal. This is an important step for easy unmolding.
  • For a smoother surface, be sure to pop any bubbles with a toothpick before putting the pan in the fridge.
  • I used a 9-inch round pan, but you can use a larger pan for THINNER jello gigglers.

Making it with Knox Gelatin

This recipe can be made with other brands of gelatin, such as Knox. Though these are sometimes called Knox Blocks, it’s the same concept as Jello Jigglers. Because Knox gelatin is unflavored, you’ll need to add your own. Try using fruit juices and a natural sweetener like honey for a healthier version of Jello!

Can You Use Silicone Molds?

Silicone molds are an easy and convenient way to make jigglers. These molds can be used as an alternative to cookie cutters and they usually have more intricate designs. Silicone molds come in fun, festive shapes and designs so that you can customize your jigglers.

Pro Tip: Remember to spray oil spray to your mold before adding jello mixture. This will make the unmolding much easier.

Best Ratio BetweenJello and Water

When making Jello Jigglers, the ratio of Jello to water is very important. Using too much water will result in thinner, softer gelatin that won’t be able to hold its shape. At the same time, you don’t want a rubbery or hard Jello, either. Using 2½ cups of boiling water for 6 oz of Jello will yield the best consistency for Jello Jigglers.

How Do You Get Jello Jigglers Out of Mold?

Spraying oil spray to the baking dish will help get your jello out of mold easily. Also make sure to let the jello to set properly. To unmold the Jello from the pan, you’ll need to place a flat plate on top, and invert the pan onto the plate. Wait for a minute or two, the Jello should come out easily.

If you are using a silicone mold, slowly lower the mold into some warm water to gently and neatly release the Jello. The Jiggler should slide right out.
