Ordering peonies online

Peonies like moist and nutrient-rich soil and a place in full sun. Do not plant the rootstock of the peony too deep, as this can cause the plant to flower poorly. The nose of the plant only needs to be 1-2 cm under the soil. Peonies can be planted in autumn or spring, as peonies are hardy. Please note that peonies do not produce many flowers in the first year. Size 3/5 rhizomes generally produce flowers faster than size 2/3. If they are planted in the autumn, the rootstocks have more time to make more roots and they will give more flowers. The second year they give good flowers. After 6 to 10 years the peony plants can be lifted. You can then split the plants and replant them in another place. Peony rootstocks are available almost the whole year (as long as stocks last). Of course you can already start landscaping and decorating your surroundings before the season starts. It is possible to order online flower bulbs, tubers and rootstocks before the season starts, to ensure you of your preferred choice of peonies. Different kinds of peonies

We offer a wide range of rootstocks in different sizes. There are many Paeonia varieties, mostly red, white or pink in colour, which almost all belong to the Paeonia Lactiflora group. Such as Paeonia 'duch*esse de Nemours' or Paeonia 'Sarah Bernhardt'. To make your choice you can use the filter; choose for example size, flowering period, colour, group or height.

History of the Peony

Paeonia is a genus of the family Paeoniaceae. The botanical name Paeonia goes back to antiquity. Paieon was the god of healing in ancient Greece. Peonies were originally grown to be used as medicine. The roots of this 'herb' were used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat many different ailments.
