Join Date: Oct 2011 Location: San Diego Posts: 94 | Orange to Yellow Coolant per Ford Bulletin Just wanted to share this. Was going to buy a gallon of the orange coolant that is in my 2019 Tiffin with V10 for topping off purposes but was informed by the ford parts guy that it has been replaced by the Yellow VC-13 coolant and it is ok to mix. Ford bulletin dated Aug 2020 Version 2.I have attached the bulletin __________________ |

Thor Owners Club Join Date: Jul 2011 Posts: 3,790 | Keep in mind the coolant type for the V10 did changed over the years starting out with the green ESE-M97B44-A coolant then switching to the gold WSS-M97B51-A1 during model year 2003 production before settling in with the orange WSS-M97B44-D2 starting in model year 2015. The bulletin only address mixing yellow colored coolant with green or orange and makes no mention of mixing with the gold. Owners should verify what is currently in the engine and checking if what they are adding is compatible. If you need to top off and are unsure about what coolant is in the engine then stick with straight distilled water. Slight dilution due to minor topping off shouldn't compromise the coolant too much unless you're adding a lot to the system over time between maintenance intervals. __________________ |

Indirectly it does: Ford Engineering has approved the use of yellow-colored Motorcraft® Yellow Antifreeze/Coolant (Ford specifications WSS-M97B57-A1 and WSS-M97B57-A2) to service all Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles factory-filled with the following antifreeze/coolants: • Orange-colored Motorcraft® Orange Antifreeze/Coolant (Ford specifications WSSM97B44-D and WSS-M97B44-D2) • Dark green-colored Motorcraft® Specialty Green Engine Coolant with Bittering Agent (Ford specification WSS-M97B55-A) Ray __________________ |
