List of the Fastest Cars in Need for Speed Heat

The “OP” Porsche 911 RSR

This car is hands down the best car in the game. With the right engine swap (preferably the 3.5L V6), this car has amazing mid-speed acceleration, great cornering abilities, and all round good grip. People say it’s overpowered probably because the car corners without losing as much speed.

McLaren F1

One of the greatest cars ever made, the McLaren F1 holds crown as the world’s fastest naturally aspirated car in the world. That is until we can turbo charge that glorious BMW V12 for some serious power boost.

Anyways, the McLaren F1 is a very good contender to the RSR; very good grip, cornering capabilities, good high-speed acceleration. You might have to engine swap the V12 for a Forged 2.6L I6 for the best performance out there, but I stuck with the stock V12 and it’s still good.

The only thing that’s stopping this car from beating the RSR is the fact that it’s a paid DLC car. Not too sure if it’s worth spending $5 for one car. But you can turn your F1 into the F1 LM or GTR if that’s your taste. Plus the DLC adds some extra races to do so you wouldn’t find yourself bored of this game.

Ferrari F40

I bet some of you might recognize this poster from your room. Enzo Ferrari’s last car designed before his passing, he left us with one of the best Ferrari’s the world has ever been blessed with.

And surely this car is a blessing to the game as well. The F40 has one of the best acceleration in the game (apart from the Evo 9). The high speed acceleration is very good, even at over 190 mph. The handling of the car is also great, being light and responsive. It can drift through corners with ease.

The only thing left to make this car have this much capabilities is to engine swap it with a 4.4L V8.

Pagani Huayra BC

An Italian beauty with a heart of a German. I’m referring to Pagani, of course.

The Huayra BC might arguably be my favorite car to use for two reasons:

  1. The handling is very responsive and light, being able to drift on command with brake to drift and the car can really grip without a lot of understeer nor oversteer.
  2. The high-speed acceleration is very good, about on-par with the Ferrari F40, but the F40 favoring better off-the-line acceleration from 0-60.

The Huayra BC just feels right imo. It sure is expensive and the gears on the car are somewhat tall, but this is one of the only cars that doesn’t require an engine swap. So lucky for you, you can keep that AMG 6.0L V12. Probably swap fro a 5 speed gearbox since the 6th and 7th gear seem pointless since it’s tall. And you only need 5 gears to get you to top speed (around 235 mph).

Ford GT ’17

The new Ford GT looks like a spaceship that’s trying to replicate the original Ford GT. lol

Anyways, the ford GT is another very good car that competes on-par with the F40 and the Huayra BC in their respect. If you’re looking for a cheaper car to build out of the three, i’d say the Ford GT might be the answer.

With the 3.9L V8 from a **Ferrari 488 Pista**, you’ve essentially ended the rivalry between Ford vs Ferrari. jokes aside, the 3.9L V8 seems to be the best of the engine swaps to choose from, mainly because of its wonderful gear ratios. Comparative to the 6.2L V8 from a Corvette, it might give you more power, but the gearing of the corvette engine is pretty bad imo. Once the car hits 7th gear, it really slows down to mid range rpm, which is not ideal for high speed.

The Ferrari engine on the other hand has shorter gears, making for faster shifts. I’ve also noticed that the car doesn’t upshift early like the corvette engine does, which would explain why the last gear is tall. The gearing on the Ferrari engine just feels better.

Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R

An underrated car for sure. The grandfather car before the infamous Godzilla. Ah yes, the Hakosuka.

The Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R is referred as the best JDM car in the game. It’s a well balanced car that grips and accelerates with ease. Maybe not the best for off-the-line acceleration, but at high speed, it’s a different story.

The only real problem about the car is that it’s a bit awkward to get it to oversteer into a drift when you want to take corners. Might require to use the handbrake to get it to oversteer hard into hairpins but other than that, good grip.

Another problem i’d say is the engine swap. You have to do something pretty sacrilege to the car: by putting an AMG 4.0L V8 in it.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX

It seems like polar opposite with the Evo 9.

Unlike the Hakosuka with great high speed acceleration, the Evo is great with starting acceleration, with an astonishing 0-60 time of 1.70 seconds.

It was called the true RSR killer, honestly, it’s not an RSR killer. Acceleration might be the reason why people call it the RSR killer. But the car really shows its weakness at high speed acceleration (in which the Hakosuka Skyline GT-R excels at) and also its cornering abilities. The car does have very good grip, but it likes to understeer at times. It’s best to brake a bit early or double tap the brakes to get it to drift through the corners, which could cost you time.

Like I said, not an RSR killer and not the best JDM car all-round, but on certain tracks (like time trials) this car can be pretty good.

Honorary Omissions (Sorta)

Not all cars are competitive. Even the track-focused cars might seem like a good choice, but in NFS logic, it’s not.

McLaren P1 GTR

Over $2.1 million for this track beast. Unfortunately, the car has this weird grip handling where it’ll lose grip when turning too long. Also, the 7th gear is very tall, making the high speed acceleration terrible. And no, you can’t swap to a 6 speed gearbox, or it’ll hinder the top speed.

McLaren P1

Speaking of the P1 GTR, the road car is even worse. The car understeers horrendously. Even if you try to put drift suspension and whatnot to make the car oversteer, it still grips and understeers. What a shame…

Aston Martin Vulcan

Idk what to say about this car: it’s just meh. Acceleration is not the best and the handling is decently good with some good grip, but the Huayra BC, slightly more expensive but much better acceleration, is just a better car.

Ferrari FXX K Evo

The most expensive car in the game, yet it’s not the best. It does grip well but it’s hard to get it to drift through the corners. Also, the acceleration is decent but the 7th gear, like a lot of cars, makes the car slow down. Over $2 million and it ain’t even in top 5… shame.

LaFerrari

The road car that can be customized to look like the FXX K (not the Evo). Apparently, the LaFerrari has a more balanced handling between drift and grip. While the FXX K Evo grips, the LaFerrari can corner better imo. And it’s a million dollars less for a car that actually performs better over its track variant.but like the FXX K Evo, the LaFerrari loses out on high speed acceleration.

Of these five omissions, the LaFerrari might be the better choice.
