What is the difference between bass and treble waves? ›

Keep in mind that an excessive treble level can lead to harsh or piercing audio that can cause listener fatigue. Bass frequencies generally have less influence on speech-related audio when compared to treble. However, bass frequencies are essential for delivering a rich music or media listening experience.

Bass waves, or low frequency wave have the wavelength way bigger than the rest. Consider the bass region 20 - 300 Hz. You'll have waves sized 2 - 20 meters high (around 6 to 65 feet). These waves carry a lot more energy than the rest.

In a musical sense, we often see this split into bass, middle, and treble sections. These aren't fixed definitions, but bass accounts for frequencies between 20 and 300 Hz, mid is 300 Hz to 4 kHz, and treble counts as anything above 4 kHz, very roughly speaking.

In popular music, the bass part, which is called the "bassline", typically provides harmonic and rhythmic support to the band.
