FROM money off your supermarket shop, to free takeaways, here are the latest NHS freebies and discounts being offered by big retailers.

High street chains are saying thanks to healthcare workers for all their hard work during the coronavirus crisis.

As well as free grub, NHS staff can also claim free unlimited mobile data and car checks on the house.

Offers can be pulled at any time, so it’s worth double-checking with each retailer that they’re still running the promotion.

You can use each store’s online shop finder tool to find contact details for your nearest branch.

Here are the latest offers for NHS workers:

- 10 per cent off

when they show their work ID at the tills.

The money off, which excludes alcohol and kiosk purchases, will be applied at the checkout.

The retailer hasn't set an end date for this offer, so make sure you check the discount is still valid before you shop.

There is no minimum or maximum spend and as B&M doesn't offer an online delivery service, you can only redeem the discount in stores.

B&M is currently unable to accept Blue Light Cards as a form of proof of working for the NHS.

The discounter has 600 shops in the UK - use the online finder tool to track down your nearest one.

Bloom & Wild - 40 per cent off

NHS, armed forces, emergency service and social care staff can treat themselves to a little pick-me-up with 40 per cent off flowers from Bloom & Wild.

To get the discount, you need to enter your work email address into an online form.

Bloom & Wild will then send you a unique discount code within three days - you'll need to end this code when you get to the checkout stage of your order.

The discount code can be used up to three times and expires midnight on May 31, 2020.

Bloom & Wild offers free next-day delivery on orders placed before 10pm, Monday to Friday.

Co-op - 10 per cent off

Co-op is giving NHS staff 10 per cent off their next food shop.

Workers will need to show their NHS ID at the tills to get the discount.

The offer excludes alcohol, tobacco, Paypoint/E top-up, savings stamps, postage stamps, gift cards, first stage baby milk products, lottery and fuel.

Co-op has more than 4,000 food stores in the UK - find yours using the online store finder.

The discount isn't valid on online sales.

Morrisons - 10 per cent off

NHS staff can get 10 per cent off their next Morrisons shop until July 12, 2020.

Healthcare workers need to show their work ID at the checkout to get the money off.

Sadly, the discount can't be used for online orders, so you'll need to shop in store to get the discount.

Certain items will be excluded from the discount, including fuel, spirits (England only), all alcohol (Scotland and Wales), tobacco, lottery products, gift vouchers and infant formula milk.

Morrisons has just under 500 shops in the UK - use the onlinestore finder tool to locate your nearest shop.

Pets at Home - 10 per cent off

Pet owners who work for the NHS can claim 10 per cent off their next Pets at Home spend.

Just show your work ID when you get to the checkout to redeem the discount.

Pets at Home hasn't said how long the offer, which isn't valid for online orders, will run for.

Visit one of Pets at Home's 450 UK stores to claim the money off - see the online finder tool for more information about branches.

Pret a Manger - 50 per cent off

Pret a Manger has reopened 10 of its 500 UK branches in a bid to help NHS staff.

The cafes are all near hospitals and in addition, healthcare workers can get 50 per cent off all food and drink until the end of April.

Staff will need to show their work ID to get the money off.

We've rounded up which Pret locations have reopened.

What other freebies can NHS staff get?

WE’VE rounded up a large selection of the best NHS discounts and freebies, but there are plenty more deals to be found.

Check the official NHS website for the latest list of up-to-date promotions.

In addition, NHS staff get discounts all year round through the Blue Light Card membership scheme.

Blue Light Cards cover NHS staff, emergency service workers and members of the Armed Forces.

There’s two different cards you can get, one for online and a physical card to shop in stores.

The digital card is free but the physical card costs £4.99 and lasts two years at a time.

You canregister online herebut you’ll need to prove your profession to qualify for the card.

Here's who qualifies for Blue Light Club:

  • 4x4 response, Ambulance Service, Blood Bikes, Border Force, British Army, Cave Rescue, Community First Responders, Fire Service, Highways Agency, HM Armed Forces Veterans, HM Coastguard, HM Prison Service, Immigration Enforcement, Lowland Search and Rescue, MoD Civil Servant, MoD Fire Service, MoD Police, Mountain Rescue, NHS, Police, Red Cross, Reserved Armed Forces, RNLI, Royal Air Force, Royal Marines, Royal Navy, Search and Rescue, Second Line Responders, St Andrews Ambulance, St John Ambulance, UK Visa and Immigration

Unfortunately you can’t see which offers are available until you’ve signed up but retailers who have taken part in the past include Starbucks, Apple, New Look and Cineworld.

The discounts are constantly changing so it's difficult to pinpoint exactly what money you'll be saving.

If you've already got a Blue Light Card, remember to always compare prices to make sure what you're buying isn't cheaper elsewhere.

Superdrug - 20 per cent off

Superdrug shoppers who work for the NHS can get 20 per cent off in-store purchases until June 16, 2020.

The discount doesn't work on online orders.

Valid shoppers will need to show their NHS work ID when they get to the checkout.

Superdrug has 796 shops in the UK although opening times will vary due to coronavirus.

WH Smith - 20 per cent off

WH Smith has doubled its NHS discount to 20 per cent off for all in-hospital branches.

The previous discount, which is applied upon proof of work ID, was 10 per cent.

The boosted discount won't apply to standalone WH Smith stores, as most of these have temporarily closed due to coronavirus.

WH Smith hasn't said how long the extra discount will be valid for.

The retailer has 140 shops inside hospitals, all of which have remained open during the coronavirus epidemic.

The Range - 10 per cent off

Throughout April, The Range is giving NHS workers 10 per cent off spends.

NHS ID will need to be presented at the tills.

The Range has 175 shops nationwide, although shopping hours will vary due to coronavirus.

Use the online store finder to see when your local branch is open.

The offer hasn't been given a set end date, so check the promotion is still running before you shop.

Las Iguanas - 50 per cent off

Las Iguanas restaurants are closed to diners, but you can still order takeaways and deliveries.

If you're an NHS or care worker, you'll get 50 per cent off your food plus a free can of Coca-Cola.

Las Iguanas is advising healthcare staff to call their nearest restaurant to arrange their meal.

There are 57 Las Iguanas in the UK - check out the store finder tool to track down your nearest one.

Hotel Chocolat - 50 per cent off

Treat yourself, or someone you love, with 50 per cent off goodies from Hotel Chocolat.

The discount is only for online purchases as all 70 Hotel Chocolat branches are currently closed.

To get the money off, fill out this online form with a valid NHS email address or email that's linked to a Blue Light Card account before April 30, 2020.

Discounts will be capped at £250 per transaction.

Hotel Chocolat charges £3.95 for orders of one item, and £4.95 for two or more items.

Leon - 50 per cent off

Leon is giving NHS staff 50 per cent off their next meal.

To get the discount, staff are advising to email LoveNHS@leon.co.uk to place an order and arrange delivery.

Leon has closed a number of restaurants but says some near hospitals remain open to help serve NHS staff.

Leon has 63 restaurants in the UK - check if your local is still open for takeaways by using the online finder tool.

Just Eat - 25 per cent off

Just Eat recently extended its 25 per cent off for NHS staff deal, so the offer will now run until April 27, 2020.

It was previously due to finish on April 13, 2020.

Go tojust-eat.co.uk/NHS and enter your NHS email address to get the discount.

You'll then be sent a verification email to this address to make sure it’s an active NHS account.

Each discount code will be valid until midnight on the day it was redeemed, and you can generate one code every day until the offer expires.

Your NHS email address doesn't need to be the email you have linked to your Just Eat account.

Deliveroo - Free £20 meal

Deliveroo is giving 50,000 NHS workers a free £20 voucher to spend on takeaway food.

NHS workers can redeem their £20 voucher by setting up a Deliveroo account with their NHS email address.

Once you've done this, you'll be sent a unique £20 voucher code within 24 hours to use on your next Deliveroo order.

This offer will last until May 31, 2020, or until all the vouchers have been redemeed.

Deliveroo charges delivery fees, which vary depending on the restaurant you order from and will still apply on top of the discount.

Costa Coffee - Free canned drink

Costa is giving away 250,000 of Ready-To-Drink Costa Coffee cans to NHS workers.

The Ready-To-Drink cans will be delivered to hospitals with a Costa Coffee stores in them and given away across several locations.

Costa hasn't revealed which hospitals have already received deliveries of the free cans.

Stand-alone Costa stores are currently closed across the UK.

EE - Free unlimited data

If you're an EE customer and you work for the NHS, you can claim free unlimited data for six months.

The freebie is valid until October 9, 2020.

To get it, you just need to register onEE's special NHS websiteusing anNHSemail address.

You'll then receive an SMS confirming when your account has been boosted to unlimited data.

Vodafone - Free unlimited data

Vodafone users can get free unlimited data if they're employed by the NHS.

The deal started on April 6, 2020, and is valid for 30 days.

NHS users should have already had the free data applied to their account automatically.

If you haven't, it can be redeemed through the VeryMe section of the My Vodafone app.

For Vodafone users who have to apply manually, the 30 days will start from when the free unlimited data is activated.

Customers will get a text message to confirm when the data has been set up - this usually takes between one and three days.

Halfords - Free car checks

As Halfords has been classed as an "essential" retailer during the coronavirus crisis, the retailer has been allowed to keep some stores and garages open.

In addition, Halfords is now offering free car checks, usually worth £15, for NHS workers.

The free ten point checks include top-ups of tyre inflation, screen wash and checks on oil levels, headlights and brake lights.

To redeem the offer, NHS and emergency workers will need to show their staff ID card to any Halfords staff member.

Halfords has more than 300 shops and 460 autocentres - check online to see if your nearest branch is open.

HomeServe - Free boiler repairs

NHS and social care workers qualify for free emergency boiler repairs from HomeServe.

Free emergency plumbing work is also being offered.

To find out more, eligible workers need to contact HomeServe on 0330 0247 222.

You can also find a full list of emergency work covered in this offer online.

Some examples include leaks, no heating and broken boilers.

HomeServe says the freebie will be in place until the government lockdown ends.

NCP - Free parking

If you need to drive to work, NCP is allowing NHS workers to park for free in select car parks.

The scheme covers 30 car parks that are near hospitals - see the full list here.

NCP first said the scheme will be available until the end of April, but it'll now be reviewed on a weekly basis.

To park for free, you'll need to pre-register online - if you turn up on the day without doing this, you'll have to pay as normal.

Bookings can be made anytime up to an hour before arriving into the car park and up to 7 days in advance.

JustPark - Free driveway parking

JustPark is asking users to offer up their driveway spaces for free to NHS staff and critical care workers.

You'll need to confirm you work for the NHS by entering your work email address here.

Once verified and registered, search on JustPark to find your free parking space.

If you have a driveway to list, you can offer it up online using this JustPark link.

So far, JustPark says 13,316 have been made available through this scheme.
